La Rivoluzione Umana

The story of the Soka Gakkai organisation: a novel

This novel in 12 books tells the story of the founders of secular Buddhist association, Soka Gakkai.

Its starting point is 1945, when Josei Toda, Soka Gakkai’s second chairman, was released from prison where he had been detained for opposing the Japanese government’s imperialist policies. His release coincided with the beginning of the reconstruction of the Buddhist movement, whose goal is the furthering of world peace. The story ends with Toda’s death in 1958.
In the editions published from 2007 onwards, each volume comprises two books from the original set. More details on the publishing house’s web site.
